Hotel – Marangu gate – Mandara hut – Hotel

The day begins by a pick-up from your lodge and drive to Marangu gate where you will obtain Kilimanjaro National Park admission permit. The hike begins at around 10h0; ascending towards Mandara hut, 2700 meters above sea level, is approximately four hours. On reaching Mandara hut, you will take your lunch from the summit’s viewing point. The visibility of the Uhuru peak, Africa’s highest peak is depended on weather, difficult to see when it is cloudy.

Along the way, monkeys (cololus monkeys) and bird species are easily spotted.

Descending is easy and it should take between two to three hours. The vehicle will be waiting the park’s entry point, ready to drive you back to your hotel.
